Southern Expressway
The Southern Expressway Duplication project will provide a two-way 18.5km road from Darlington to Old Noarlunga operational 24 hours a day, seven days a week. In addition, the project will provide:
- Duplication of the existing interchanges and pedestrian bridges
- Improved accessibility for people living in the southern area to employment, education, community and shopping facilities
- Improved accessibility for commercial traffic to industrial related facilities
- Improved accessibility to tourist destinations on the Fleurieu Peninsula and Kangaroo Island
- Facilitate economic development in the souther regions
- Reduce travel times to and from the southern suburbs
- Improve road safety.
