Social Enterprise
The Social Enterprise project will be delivered by Southern Junction Community Services.
Southern Junction Community Services have:
- Significant experience in working with people who have experienced social disadvantage
- Have a good appreciation of the region's social enterprise objectives
- Have an existing business model that could be easily adapted
- Are committed to the project
- Are adequately resourced to be able to deliver.
Pilot Project
- Thirteen (13) week pre-employment course for ten (10) participants commencing late 2010
- Three (3) participants to be offered traineeships and enrolled in Certificate II in Horticulture, employmented by loca landscape contractor
- Landscaping twenty (20) Junction houses in Seaford Meadows region in 2011
- Additional twenty (20) Junction houses will require landscaping later in 2011
- Support will be provided to participants to transition to open employment.
